Stavanger Indie – The Independent Film Festival of Stavanger
The second edition of Stavanger Indie was a massive success! On August 26–29, 2026, audiences packed into Folken to experience bold, original, and independent films from around the world. With screenings, filmmaker Q&As, networking, and one-of-a-kind festival moments, our debut edition showed just how much Stavanger is ready for an international indie film festival.
Organized by Stavanger Filmmakers—a volunteer-run collective that has been nurturing local filmmaking talent for over six years—the festival created an inspiring space where filmmakers and audiences connected around distinctive, daring, and personal cinema.
And this is still only the beginning.
Stavanger Indie will return in 2027—bigger, bolder, and just as unapologetically original.

The Venue
The Venue
Folken is the student house in the center of Stavanger, for all students regardless of educational institution. At the same time, Folken is an important stage – regionally and nationally – for rhythmic music.
We are a cultural center with three bars, three stages and a cultural program that runs throughout the semester.
